Margaret Cowling, DDS

Dr. Margaret Cowling is originally born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She went to UTSA and UTHSCSA for her undergrad and graduate studies of dentistry. She lived in Houston for two years as a public healthcare provider for the National Health Service Corps in a federally qualified health center providing dentistry for underserved dental populations. After JT and Margaret got married they moved to Abilene, Texas so JT could serve his time in the Air Force. Abilene has a special place in Margaret’s heart as that’s where two babies were born: Conner 6 and Zoey 4. They welcomed some new additions to the family since moving to Marble Falls: Zayne (2) and Sawa (8 months). Margaret likes do anything and everything with her kids. Anything related to water and animals is a great time for the family.

Jefferson Cowling, DDS

Dr. JT Cowling hails from Sulphur Springs, Texas where he was born and raised. JT graduated with a bachelor’s in Biology from Texas A&M Commerce. Then he completed his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from UT Health Science Center in San Antonio. It was in San Antonio that JT was lucky enough to have met Margaret. After a lot of persuading, Margaret agreed to marry JT. He was one of the few applicants to get accepted into the Air Force Dental Corps. JT served all four years at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas. JT and Margaret have four children, Conner who is 6, Zoey who is 4, Zayne who is 2 , and Sawa who is 8 months old. The Cowling’s are proud to be part of this community and are excited to meet you!

Anja

Office Manager

Anja is our office manager and was once one of our head RDA’s. Along with working hard, she balances her professional life with being a proud mother to 4 wonderful children- Joey, Sophia, Clay and Olivia. Outside of work, Anja enjoys spending time outdoors, especially four wheeling, crafting, and relaxing by the lake or beach. Her warm personality and strong sense of organization make her a valued member of our team.

Dental Hygienist

I’m Erika, one of your resident hygienists. I fully believe smiles are contagious and laughter is mandatory! I’m a proud mom of four extraordinary kids and a wife of 20 years to a super handsome man! When I’m not busy ensuring your pearly whites stay sparkling, you can find me juggling kids, sports, pets, church, and as much travel as we can fit in our chaotic schedule!

Jeny

Registered Dental Assistant

Hi, I’m Jeny, I moved from Mexico when I was 3 yrs old, and have been living in the area since then. I attended elementary-high school in Marble Falls. I am a coffee lover who’s ultimate dream is to one day own her own coffee truck. I enjoy going to concerts, trying out new coffee shops, (of course) and love creating new memories with friends and family!

Annissa

Registered Dental Assistant

Annissa is a local from the Hill Country and is the oldest of 4 siblings. She has worked for Dr. Cowling and Dr. Margaret since 2023. She enjoys assisting in procedures and helping folks achieve a healthy smile. She has a very sweet dog named Leia and her favorite pastime is watching crime shows on Netflix.

Melissa

Front Desk Coordinator

Melissa has been married to her handsome husband Nathan since 2001 and loves hanging out with her 3 wonderful kids- Megan, Austin, and Cody. She likes to provide a welcoming atmosphere for everyone she meets at Highland Lakes Dental. Her interests include creating art, disc golf, boondocking, and hopes one day to be living in a Sprinter Van down by the river in Colorado or Washington State.

Alysha

Registered Dental Assistant

Alysha is a caring and dedicated dental assistant who takes pride in making patients feel comfortable and confident. Originally from Rochester, New York, shes lived in Marble Falls since 1998. Alysha enjoys walking, beach days, cooking, and baking with her kids. She’s a proud mom of 3 and bonus mom of 3 and happily engaged. Together, the family enjoys exploring new swimming areas and caring for their lively household of five dogs, three cats, and a bearded dragon.

Hi, I am Catlin, I grew up in Burnet. I am a dedicated dental assistant. I’m passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and confident in their smiles. When I’m not at work, you can usually find me with a good book in hand or creating custom shirts for my kids and my friends kids. As a proud mom of 2 and bonus mom of 4 life keeps me busy, creative and full of love.

Registered Dental Hygienist

Emily graduated from Concord Career College in San Antonio, with her Associates in Dental Hygiene. She has been part of the team since 2023 and has helped our patients achieve a healthier smile. Outside of the office Emily enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching movies and being outdoors.
